A 2" wide supporting recess is required on each side wall for the panels. This recess is not required on the end walls. When not using a Gill pre-fabricated sand pit form, it is important to include a 2" "ledge" along the sides of the sand pit to accommodate the 730148 sand pit cover. The 730148 is designed to allow a track builder to apply the same surface as on the track for a seamless design. Manufacturing begins upon receipt of form 730148-2 (field check guide). A typical sand pit requires 10-11 cover panels.
